What is new in August?

I have been doing some thinking about my shop here. In getting ready for the fall and holiday shopping season I realized I was missing the one thing that will really convince me to buy online. I always look at shipping and if an item I like has free shipping it goes a long way to convince me to purchase.

So to give potential customers what I like for myself I decided to ship for free within the US. This policy will continue at least through the end of 2009.

So take advantage of me. The price of the item is all you pay! Simple! Easy!

Four new headbands were added to my shop today. Everyone who has purchased one of these has been pleased. Many have said that they look better in person than in the photos. I guess that means I makes pretty good stuff or I need to practice photography more or maybe just somewhere in the middle.

No Apologies

I usually click away quickly from blogs that start with an apology for not posting in a long time so I won't do that to you.

What I do want you to know is that like it or not the holiday season is rapidly approaching. As an online shop keeper I will be spending quite a bit of time here getting ready for it. In the coming weeks you can look for many new items here in my shop.

Off now to take pictures and write descriptions.

Trying to get serious

I am finally starting to list some of the things I have made and had stored. There are a couple new headbands in my shop. These are hemstitched and crocheted.

Hemstitching is done with an industrial machine that only does one thing, that is hemstitching. It creates spaced holes in fabric and stitches on each side of them. Sometimes the stitch is used as a decorative element all by itself. I use it to be able to crochet edges of fabric.

I first became aware of this craft through a friend in Utah. Traditionally it is done on flannel for baby blankets and burp cloths. I use it for more than that. I have made headbands, table runners, fleece blankets and quilts all hemstitched and then crocheted.
